With the semester coming to the end, we can now say that this semester has been busy yet successful. We attended National Conference in Omaha, Nebraska, participated in many philanthropy events, celebrated 22 years, pushed through a hectic Homecoming week, and activated a fabulous Membership Candidate class.

The National Conference was attended by three of our very own: Lockard Cassity, MiKayla Goodman, and Brenna Goodwin. They flew to Omaha, Nebraska during their Fall Break in order to participate in the National Conference. To their surprise they ended up bringing 4 awards home with them. Emerald Chapter, Best Website, Best Scrapbook, and the Founders Cup were all awarded to Sigma Alpha – Theta Chapter. All the girls were very excited to learn that for the first time, they had received the Founders Cup!

Philanthropy events that the ladies of Sigma Alpha participated in this semester include Race for the Cure, Boo at the Zoo, and cooking dinner at the Ronald McDonald House. The sisters have been very active in the community this semester.

October 7, 2012 marked 22 years for the Theta Chapter of Sigma Alpha. We celebrated with a luncheon at Calhoun’s on the River. Awards were given out to outstanding sisters, and parents were encouraged to attend.

This semester the ladies also participated in UT’s Homecoming Week with the men of FarmHouse. The theme was Trojans: Ancient History. They all worked hard on completing a banner, float, cheer competition, and many other events. They did not place overall; however, they did win third place for their float. All in all, many memories were made, and it was a Homecoming to remember.

Finally, 14 beautiful ladies were activated into Sigma Alpha after completing all the Membership Candidate requirements. The sorority is very excited to see what is in store for them as they head into a new semester.
