Rush Spring 2013
February 22, 2013

The last two weeks have been very busy for the Theta chapter of Sigma Alpha. During the week of January 28-February 1, we were hard at work recruiting new members for our chapter.
On Monday, we hosted an information night on campus. We played icebreaker games, taught the girls about the history of Sigma Alpha, and enjoyed pizza and snacks. On Tuesday, we taught the rushes about our participation in philanthropies including Ag in the Classroom, our national philanthropy. We also braided friendship bracelets to deliver to the Children’s Hospital at a later date. Wednesday we split into small groups and went to local restaurants for dinner. This is usually a favorite among our rushes. Thursday we went to an ice skating rink. Those of us who are more “balance-challenged” were able to socialize by the fireplace instead. On Friday, our final night of rush, we had a girls’ night in and watched Pitch Perfect while enjoying popcorn and soft drinks. We had so much fun getting to know our new girls!
In the end, we decided to invite thirteen girls to join Sigma Alpha. On Monday, February 11, we initiated all thirteen of them into our Membership Candidate Education Program. We are very proud of all of our new girls and are looking forward to seeing what each of them brings to our chapter!
